While we are always bound by the Utilities requests and specifications, we like to use remedial products manufactured by Genics, Inc. Genics was started in 1981 and since that time they have been awarded 19 patents and today have 4 patents pending.

Internal Treatments

• Cobra™ CuB

  • Copper Boron synergies. Liquid preservative that can be injected for shock treatment and or as an activator for Cobra™ Rods if decay is found and you need to get on top of the current decay status. It is provided in a 10% ready to use RTU solution and a 20% RTU solution.

• Cobra™ Rods

  • Diffusible glass rods.

  • Cobra™ ™ Rods have been in use all over North America for over 15 years in utility poles

  • Boron has difficulty with Ascomycetes (soft rot). Copper, however, controls soft rot, mold and stain fungi. 

  • Boron is also very mobile when water is present while copper tends to fix to the wood. In the Cobra™ Rod system the boron pulls the copper along while the copper slows down the boron and provides a longer lasting treatment.

  • Begin to activate at 23% to 30% moisture levels, the same levels at which decay begins and thrives in wood.

  • Proven copper naphthenate & P9 oil are formulated in this unique application system. To apply just cut to length, slit diagonal lines to expose the chemical and wrap on pole.

  • Proven copper naphthenate & P9 oil are formulated in this unique bandage application system. To apply just cut to length, peel the outer layer of film to expose the chemical treatment pad and wrap on pole.
